Getting to Pont Royal in Provence
Pont Royal is easy to access either by plane, train or car. It is situated just 9 kilometres from the well known Autoroute du Soleil which connects the north to the south of France.
Pont Royal is located on the N7, just 10 minutes driving time from Junction 26 (Sénas) on the A7 which connects the channel ports to the south of France. It is approximately mid way between Aix en Provence and Avignon. It is served by 4 airports - Marseille (drive time 40 mins), Nîmes (60 mins), Montpellier (90 mins) and Nice which is just under 2 hours' drive time.
AIR: Apart from British Airways who operate daily flights to Marseille from London Gatwick, there are several low cost airlines which currently operate into the area. These include Easy Jet who fly from Bristol and Gatwick to Marseille; Ryanair fly from both London Luton and Liverpool to Nîmes; they also fly from Dublin, Edinburgh and London Stansted to Marseille. Flybe operate flights from Southampton, Exeter, Birmingham and Manchester to Avignon. Several airlines also fly from British cities to Nice. These services vary from year to year and are often seasonal therefore clients should check which flights are being operated for the 2011 season.
RAIL: Eurostar operate a direct service between London and Avignon during the summer months. At other times of the year, it is necessary to change onto the TGV at either Lille or Paris. Motorail run a daily service between Calais and Nice via Avignon.
A car is recommended for your holiday so that you can visit the magnificent countryside in the vicinity and car hire is readily available at the airports and TGV stations.
