Self Catering Villa to Rent in Pont Royal
Ground Floor: The entrance hall with guest cloakroom leads into a sunken lounge dining area, which, in turn, leads to the kitchen. There is a large comfortable sofa, two corner seating areas either side of a central log fire and an additional cushioned seating area. The lounge and dining area look out onto the pool. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, hob, oven and microwave, fridge, freezer, washer and dryer and two sinks. There is also a breakfast bar with additional seating.
Mezzanine - TV and Study Area
Upstairs, on the mezzanine, which is accessed from the main entrance hall, you will find the TV area. There is a comfortable double sofa bed, two leather arm chairs and coffee table. Off the TV area, where you can watch both French and English satellite television, or choose a DVD from our large collection, there is a cloakroom with WC and wash hand basin. In the study area you can choose from a varied selection of games, books in English and French, or DVDs or, providing you bring your own computer, you can access the web as we provide free broadband internet access.
The Bedroom Area
Four steps from the entrance hall lead to the bedroom area. There are three bedooms in the main house.
The master suite has a king-sized bed with two bedside tables, chair and a large built-in wardrobe with two drawers, shelves and hanging space. A second built-in wardrobe, again with drawers, shelves and hanging space can be found in the dressing area together with a full length mirror.
The bathroom has a bath with shower attached, WC, and wash-hand basin with plenty of cupboard space underneath. A window overlooks the side garden. Large French windows lead from the master bedroom to the wisteria and jasmine covered terrace - an ideal retreat for some peaceful reading! During the summer, geranium filled tubs cascade over the terrace walls.
Portable fans are provided in all the bedrooms.
Bedrooms 2 and 3
There are two additional bedrooms, one with a king-size bed while the other has two single beds. They both have built-in wardrobes, again with 2 drawers, two shelves and plenty of hanging space, bed side tables, full length mirror and a chair. Both rooms overlook the front garden. The two bedrooms share a shower room with spacious shower, WC, wash-hand basin and large cupboard underneath. Hair dryers are provided in all the bedrooms.
Guest Annex
The separate guest annex was built in 2008 and is proving very popular. It can only be rented in addition to the main house. It is situated opposite the house and overlooks the pool area. It is ideal for larger families, for grandparents on holiday with their children who want their own space or for families sharing. It comprises a large room overlooking the pool with kingsize bed, cot and single bed (if required), small table and chairs, ensuite shower room and kitchenette. The kitchenette contains a sink with cupboard underneath, fridge, kettle, crockery and cutlery and a large cupboard with shelves and plenty of hanging space. A ceiling fan is provided for those hotter nights.
Garden
At the front of the property there is a small garden hedged in by oleander and photinia bushes. There is a single garage and additional parking for up to two cars. The side garden contains an olive tree, rose and lavender bushes.
To the rear, in a private courtyard setting, lies the large pool and adjoining spacious jacuzzi with magnificent views of the Luberon and the village of Pont Royal. The pool and jacuzzi are fitted with an electrically operated cover which complies with the stringent AFNOR Safety Standards. A bed of lavender separates the pool and the covered terrace and barbecue. The covered dining area with table and chairs for 8 and the wisteria and jasmine covered terrace with table and additional seating both offer shade when required, as do the mature pine trees by the side of the pool. The barbecue area is ideal for preparing and cooking local produce while sampling one of the local wines.
There is a large sun terrace around the pool and plenty of garden furniture. When not relaxing, why not play table tennis or "boules". Our pool people will come twice a week to ensure that the pool and jacuzzi are kept clean.
The garden is professionally landscaped and maintained. There is an automatic watering system which ensures that the lawn and beds do not suffer in the intense Provencal sun. From the lawn area by the pool where you will find our olive trees, a few steps will lead you down to the first terrace where the boules pitch can be found. Can there a nicer way to spend a balmy summer evening - a friendly game of boules, a glass of wine and a glorious view of the Luberon? More steps will take you down to the second terrace where there are vines and a fig tree.
